Palazzo D'Arnolfo is a 13th century palace
that stands right in the centre of the town of San Giovanni and was designed
by the architect Arnolfo di Cambio.
The Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie is a 15th century church
built to mark the place where the old lady Monna Tancia worshipped a votive
image of the Madonna.
The
Museum of Santa Maria delle Grazie is an important civic museum
that contains some extremely valuable 15th-17th century Tuscan works of
art, as the "Annunciation" by Fra Angelico and many others.
The
Casa del Masaccio is the native house of the famous painter Masaccio.
The
Chiesa della Santissima Annunziata is a late baroque Church.
The

San Giovanni
Valdarno is also close to all the major citiy centres as Florence
(38Km), Arezzo (25Km), Siena (45Km), as well as San Gimignano,
Monteriggioni, Montalcino, Greve in Chianti, Cortona and many other
beautiful places.
You can
also easily reach the Tyrrhenian sea. It takes just over
an hour by car or by regular bus service to reach the coast.
Furthermore,
the principal thermal resorts of Tuscany as Saturnia, Vetulonia
and Rapolano are not far from San Giovanni Valdarno.

a lover of shopping, San Giovanni is located in the fashion Valdarno valley,
where the major fashion house outlets are gathered: Prada, Gucci,

The Valdarno
valley offers lots of naturalistic itineraries, you can go for a relaxing
walk along the Arno river or you can visit the mythical clay cliff formations
of the Le Balze.
Place of interest is the Parco Naturale di Cavriglia, a zoo immersed in
the typical Chianti landscape. Proceeding to Arezzo, you can also visit
the Valle dell'Inferno or the Oasi naturale di Bandella, where you can
admire the wonderful natural environment and many rare animal species.

Choose among the following activities or ask for a tailor-made itinerary
just for you!
MONDAY:
Morning: Sample Tuscan wine and food at a typical farm in the Chianti
region. The trip will include an introduction to four local wines, including
a riserva and a white wine. We’ll end the excursion with a walk
in the surrounding countryside.
Afternoon:
Uncover the wealth of art and history in San Giovanni Valdarno (birthplace
of the Renaissance artist Masaccio) with a guided walking tour of the
town.
Tuesday
(morning or afternoon)
Visit the outlet retailers that carry Italy’s cutting-edge fashion
lines. Shop at Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci, Armani with the possibile addition
of Prada.
Wednesday (afternoon)
Enjoy a guided walking tour of Florence. Explore the historical centre
and visit to one of many historical sites or museums (transfer by train).

Thursday
(late afternoon)
With the help of an expert, prepare and enjoy a wholesome, Tuscan dinner.
(One teacher can serve up to six participants).
Friday
(afternoon)
With the expertise of a guide, wander through the medieval streets of
Arezzo, where “La Vita è Bella” was filmed. Visit the
astonishing frescoes of Piero della Francesca and learn about the churches
that crowd the city squares.
Saturday (morning):
Saturday is unscheduled. Mingle with all the people who flock to San Giovanni
from surrounding towns for the colourful and characteristic street market.
All activities are offered in either Italian or English. Transfers
are included. Max. 10-participant per group.
