The Monna Tancia miracle
Legend tells us that, during the terrible outbreak of the plague
in 1479, Monna Tancia, an old lady of 75, managed, thanks to her
fervent prayers to the Virgin Mary, to breastfeed her grandson Lorenzo,
whose parents had died of the plague.
